Friday 14th November - walks *** – Felixstowe Ferry and Waldringfield – rain rain rain.

Walk 1 – Felixstowe Ferry.

Friday is Maeva day but we learned early that she is not feeling well so she is having the day with her mum and the cats on the settee, fingers crossed she gets better soon. The visit to an old friend in Waldringfield for lunch will still go ahead which gave me enough time to have a drive around Felixstowe to take some weather pics as it is non-stop rain today! Starting at the pier, I moved onto Felixstowe dock view point ending up at the Ferry, pulling up at the jetty I spotted a young man with an umbrella making an ideal weather pic, I got taking to him and discovered he is an artist, a Lucas Wood who has come up from London to paint, shame the weather was so foul! He walked off to where all the tenders are to set up I parked near the Ferryboat and walked through the boatyard to take some pics of him painting under his umbrella and had a really nice chat:) I then went home to sort out a few pics for the TV!

Walk 2 – Waldringfield.

We were a bit late driving over to Waldringfield in non-stop heavy rain but got there ok and lunch went really well, Mag even made a cake:)
Then 2.40 we left and the rain actually had stopped so we got the umbrella and decided to go for a quick walk to the sailing club and back along the gloomy River Deben as the rain returned, it was such a laugh! We then took the scenic route back and there was lots of flooding on the country lanes, we stopped to swop divers for a minute to take a pic of our van driving through the flood water and was lucky enough to get the pic on the BBC!
